No End: Experimental Space Exploration Demo
A downloadable game for Windows
Hello, this is my experimental space exploration game called No End! It is a massive game that simulates an entire universe. All stars and planets are scaled realistically, as well as the distances between them. No loading screens, no smoke and mirrors! Currently it is pure space exploration, no landing on planets.
Game time is scaled up and down dynamically to allow the ship to reach it's destination in a reasonable amount of real time. This is done because it can take hours, days, or even months of game time for the ship to reach it's destination. Game time is displayed at the top of the screen.
Currently this is just barebones exploration. I plan on adding civilizations, combat, diplomacy, research and upgrades, etc.
Please leave feedback! I don't have anybody to playtest this before I upload.
Controls:
'F' to Rip Space(FTL), 'W' and 'S' to increment and decrement time dilation, hold 'Tab' to select what is currently hovered, 'Spacebar' to set destination to your selection, HOLD SHIFT to move faster while in Rip Space OR blind accelerate in sub light(use to exit solar system).
Rip Space is not available in the gravity well of a star.
Drag right mouse button to rotate ship, drag left mouse button to rotate camera, scroll to zoom.
Compatibility:
No End requires Open AL. Does not yet scale well in wide screen. Windows only.
No End is heavily optimized, let me know if you have any performance issues and where.
